Weekly Poll
Do you think the Carrizo Plain should stay a national monument?

Absolutely. The Carrizo is one of the last undeveloped areas of the San Joaquin Valley, a protected habitat for endangered species, and a natural wonder for the public.
Yes, but I don't think it's as clear cut as some think. The Trump Administration should take a look at its status.
The feds should consider reducing the size of the monument.
No. The Carrizo should be privatized. Allow the market to tap into its natural resources.

Best Of SLO County 2016: New Times' 30th Annual Readers Poll

New Times’ readers shredded it in this year’s annual Best Of SLO County readers poll. They told us who their faves were and we put them together in this outrageously massive issue for you to enjoy. And to make things just a skosh sweeter, it's our 30th Best Of issue, so we decided a little throwback would be appropriate. Each of our sections is headed up by a business or organization that has been down with the SLO County community for as long as or longer than we have. Like total bosses, they gave us images from yesteryear and we scrapbooked them together with those from today.
