Lady in waiting

Lady in waiting

The Summer Serendipity show, the juried watercolor show presented by the Central Coast Watercolor Society, hangs at the Steynberg Gallery through July 29. An opening reception takes place July 5, 6-8 p.m. Rena Doud, who is 85 years old, explains her work: “In both paintings, I really don't think about what I am going to do. I just start and let things evolve. All the curvalinear strokes became feminine in feeling and the two women appeared, one at the top and one at the bottom of the painting with bowed heads, what does that say!?” This piece will also be traveling to Santa Cruz for the 11th International Society of Acrylic Painters in July, a major event for the artist. 1531 Monterey St., in SLO.
